MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL have announced the selection of six esteemed organizations, known as Beachheads, to support envisAGE—a pan-Canadian initiative aimed at fostering quality aging through innovation.

These Beachheads will evaluate the integration of AgeTech solutions in real-world settings, aiding small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to compete in the growing AgeTech market. Among the participants is OROT, the Connected Health Innovation Hub of CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, which will leverage its expertise in value-based care and digital technology evaluation to reinvent healthcare for older adults.

“We are thrilled to be able to participate within the envisAGE initiative in the development and integration of tools designed to improve the daily lives and well-being of older adults by focusing on technologies tailored to their needs,” said Danina Kapetanovic, the CIUSSS’s Chief Innovator and Director of OROT. “OROT aims to bring together key players and facilitate their collaboration with the companies creating these innovative technological solutions.”

The collaboration between Beachheads, SMEs, and Community Labs will accelerate the development and delivery of impactful technologies, improving the lives of older Canadians and their caregivers. This initiative is crucial as over 25% of Canadians will be over 65 by 2035, highlighting the importance of technological advancements in maintaining independence and health in aging populations.
